Prof. Dr. Roland Staudinger, MSc.

Executive Vice-President VAMED

Roland Staudinger joined the VAMED GROUP in 2011. He is the Executive Vice President for international Health Care projects and responsible for the Asia – Pacific business of VAMED hospital management and development. He is a member of the executive board.

From 1990 till 2005 he was the Managing Director and CEO of a largest public and academic hospital group in Western Austria also in charge for the new business development in the field of health care industries for the government of Tyrol, Austria. In this function, he also was responsible for the estimation of 22 new international acting health care companies and international joint ventures in biochemistry, medical informatics and technology in cooperation with international brands like SIEMENS, CERNER and others. 2006 he was elected as Vice Rector of the Medical University Innsbruck, Austria, and responsible for clinical affairs and development, he also was Chairman of the University of Medical Informatics and Technology in Tyrol, this University is owned by the country of Tyrol.

He is Colonel of the Austrian Army (Medical Division, focus on crisis and pandemic prevention and interventions) and served in the United Nation peace-keeping troops in the Middle East. He was consultant for the ministry of defense, the ministry of public health and the ministry of science and education.

Joining the VAMED group 2011, he was in charge as Head of the hospital operations for all VAMED health care facilities in the VAMED portfolio and Managing director of the VAMED – Mediterra hospital group in the Czech Republic.

Since 2014 he is fully focused on the international VAMED business, he led the VAMED market entry in United Kingdom, Australia and China, since 2016 he is the head of the VAMED hospital business in South East Asia, China and Pacific. Since 2019 he is also Managing Director of AQUILIA HEALTH Ltd. – a spin off and exclusive partner company of VAMED – the company is specialized in new business development projects in Asia.

He is author and co-author of eight books and 122 scientific papers.

His academic background is Law and Medical sciences, he holds a PhD in Law (Law Faculty of Innsbruck, public law and medical law) and a PhD in Medical sciences (Medical Faculty Halle Wittenberg, Germany, in public health).
